LOWER DANUBE. Geto-Dacians. 1st century BC. 'Denarius' (Silver, 18 mm, 4.31 g, 12 h), possibly imitating a Roman Republican denarius of Mn. Acilius Glabrio (49 BC) and Q. Pompeius Rufus (54 BC). Head of Salus to right, wearing laurel wreath; before, pseudo-legend. Rev. Sella curulis between two palm fronds; above, below and on the seat, pseudo-legend. Cf. Crawford 442/1 (for possible prototype of obverse) and 434/2 (for possible prototype of reverse). Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
